Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone had taken Seldane (allergy medication) in the past (a while ago, it's now off the market). I was checking out the wustl website, and it mentions long QT syndrome as related to a Complex I disorder. My muscle biopsy showed a Complex I disorder, and I had taken Seldane, with erythromycin at some points, a while back. Now Seldane is off the market, because of association with long QT syndrome. Hopefully I didn't ask this before, I don't get a chance to read too often and I have some Alzheimer-like symptoms so my memory isn't that good sometimes. I may contact the manufacturer about it, but I'd probably have to dig up my old medical records. Just wondering, RH
Guest guest
My son was on Seldane and erythromycin simultaneously for a couple of years before the negative interactions of those two drugs were known. During that time he did develop several abnormalities on his EKG, including right bundle branch block. May have had long QT also-- I do remember something about T waves. The problem was discovered incidently during exercise testing for a mito research study. I still remember when the technician came out and asked me who his pediatric cardiologist was, and I said I didn't know he needed one. It was a bit of a shock. At the time, the abnormalities were put down to mito, but they did all resolve later once he was off Seldane.
