Guest guest
Hi guys, just thought I would answer the question about Dr. Greene, she is currently at DC children's hospital and mainly sees children but will see adults on acception. She is moving to the university of MD hopsital though in August. That is in Baltimore MD. Might be closer to some of you- I believe she will be in the genetics and metobolism pediatrics dept there too, will have to see if she sees adults still when she goes there. She told me that I should try and just see the geneticist taking over for her and Dr. Gropman instead of moving on to UMD. It is more of a drive (2-3 hrs I think) rather than DC being only 45 mins usually. The only thing that upset me about Dr. Greene is that she seems to think I should only see her or the new geneticist every yr and have my neuro or Dr. Gropman see me when needed if more often. I just feel that even though Dr. Gropman is an excellent mito specialist, Dr. Greene had a better bed-side approach and I just felt more confortable with some of her views. I see Dr. Gropman Thurs. So many now that I have a diagnosis, she will change in some of her ways. Also, there are numerous other metabolic geneticist in the country, including Dr. Korson in Boston and a few others. Just gotta know where to find them. Umm, I think it was Marjorette who had this question- maybe if you mentioned your area, maybe someone will have some recommendations of drs to see. Hope you can find someone. take care, Adrienne
Guest guest
Adrienne I only see Dr. Cohen once a year. It use to be every 6 months in the beginning. My local specialists handle everything and can contact him if necessary. So far, that has worked for me. I do have a great MDA neuro, but I only see him every 6 months. I live in an area that had been known for the lack of quality health care. I decided to try to find specialists close to home that practice at the local hospital. I was pleasantly surprised that I have found some great docs in their fields. Things do change over time. Hopefully you can work things out to meet your needs. laurie > From: moonchild62579@... > Reply-To: > Date: Sat, 5 Jun 2004 23:58:57 EDT > To: > Subject: Dr. Greene > > Hi guys, just thought I would answer the question about Dr. Greene, she is > currently at DC children's hospital and mainly sees children but will see > adults > on acception.
