Guest guest
Does anyone else here yawn alot? I was on vacation with the boys and my mother, and she mentioned to me that I yawn alot. Now I know that I sometimes yawn over and over again to the point where it looks like I am crying because my eyes are tearing so much, but that is the first time it has been literally brought to my attention. I never really paid attention as to whether or not I yawn TOO much. Sheila
Guest guest
Sheila I also yawn more than usual (whatever that is) because I am not breathing deep enough to blow off the carbon dioxide and this is my bodies way of handling it. So for me, it is not unusual, but my body actually working to correct a problem. It seems to happen at times that I am tired or stressed. laurie > From: Smz143@... > Reply-To: > Date: Thu, 3 Jun 2004 22:33:54 EDT > To: > Subject: Odd, maybe silly question > > Does anyone else here yawn alot? > I was on vacation with the boys and my mother, and she mentioned to me that I > yawn alot. > Now I know that I sometimes yawn over and over again to the point where it > looks like I am crying because my eyes are tearing so much, but that is the > first time it has been literally brought to my attention. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I seem to yawn a lot when it feels like I can't get enough oxygen. For me, that's usually when I'm either in a hot, stuffy room or I need to take my B12 injection. But considering the big picture, it's probably a whole lot better to yawn a lot than let the body get low on oxygen :-) Best Wishes, Anita
Guest guest
Thanks Laurie & Anita I have been noticing that I sometimes need to take deep breaths as I don't feel like I am getting enough air. It was just odd having someone bring it to my attention. I thought I would just bring it up and see if anyone here does the same. I appreciate your responses. Thanks Sheila
Guest guest
Sheila, That sort of thing happens to me frequently. I suddenly have to gasp for air, and feel like I'm suffocating. We jokingly refer to it as " wake apnea " , because it looks the same as someone who has stopped breathing in their sleep and then starts gasping for air. The difference is that I was breathing all along, but perhaps not deeply enough. Guest guest
Sheila, Funny you should bring that up. Last night after doing a lot of physical shoveling of stones and mowing the lawn I was yawning for an hour before my regular bedtime. I just couldn't stop. This happens every now and then. I am not sure if I was that tired or what. I was tired but I was on a riding lawnmower and only shoveled a little so not too bad. I think it may also be a way to get oxygen when I am sick. Guest guest
I yawn a lot as well. My eyes also tear up. I find myself doing this after I have been exerting myself. I find it a lot after, and actually during meetings with parents (I'm a teacher). I think I use up so much energy talking and thinking of what I am going to say, that my body needs to compensate. I never really thought of it much before, but noticed it more after I was seeing if I did yawn a lot. :-) Smiles, a On Thu, 3 Jun 2004 22:33:54 EDT Smz143@... writes: Does anyone else here yawn alot?
