Guest guest
Hi everyone, Hope this finds you as healthy as possible. I have some labs back and haven't had a chance to talk to the doc about them yet. I looked them up on line and am not really happy with what they may represent. My last visit to the endocrinologist my labs showed problems with my T3, progesterone and adrenal glands. I have started the armor thyroid and they just doubled it. I have also started the progesterone in a cream that gets absorbed through the skin. But after being on these for over a month, the doc/PA ordered more labs for insulin & lipid profile. the majority came back fine but my HDL was 33 with the normal being greater than 35 and the C-peptide is 7.17 and the range is 0.8 - 4.0 I know the HDL is usually used as an indicator for heart disease and the c-peptide is used to diagnose diabetes. But my BS was normal as was my cholesterol and LDL's . What are your thoughts or experiences with this???? Thanks in advance, you all are such a wonderful lot of people. Guest guest
Ann Marie The blood sugar that is done with a drop of blood in a glucometer and not fasting can be normal and the c-peptide can be high since it is an average of about the past 3 months and the regular blood sugar is for the previous few hours. The LDLs and HDLs are both present, one needing to be high and the other low for good heart health. I'm sure the doctor can put all this in perspective. There are many things that can change the value out of the normal range and be expected such as medications, suppliments, foods and so on. This is why labs should be discussed with a doctor as they can put it all together. I use to get concerned when I saw a value outside of normal, but the doctor could always explain it in a way that made sense, so I don't get concerned until he/she does. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Thu, 27 May 2004 18:18:37 -0500 > To: Mito Mito >, Mitoldies > > Subject: Lab Results > > Hi everyone, > Hope this finds you as healthy as possible. > I have some labs back and haven't had a chance to > talk to the doc about them yet.
