Hi and welcome..

I have been displaying symptoms of Lupus for .. gosh .. since the

early 1980's. I was finally given a final diagnosis of Lupus in

February 2000.

My symptoms started slowly .. unexplained fevers .. muscle pain ..

joint tenderness .. problems with my mentrual periods .. and on and on ..

always the doctors would say ..

well, your blood is not quite right .. but we are not sure exactly

what is causing your symptoms.

Well, in looking back through some old records one day, I found a lab

report from 1983 .. and my ANA was positive then .. my SED rate was

sky high .. and my C-reactive protein was high as well. But nothing

was ever said about Lupus.

So .. after years of doctors passing me off like the proverbial " buck "

... getting accused of being a drug addict looking for pain meds ..

being told the pain was all in my head and I was just vying for

attention .. I finally got a diagnosis .. but it took me almost dying

to finally get it.
