Guest guest
Laurie, Sounds like a rough day and I do think a good rest is in order. I'm sorry that your air exchange was down and that you need to have the full body scan but sounds like something that needs to be done as a precaution. If they don't find clots, will they add oxygen during the day? I have the same pulmonary testing to look forward to myself next week and know I'll probably need a sleep study when the pulmonologist sees me on 6/4. Sounds like we are running neck in neck here. Rest !! Alice tests and van Hi all I had my pulmonary function tests and blood gases done. I then saw the doctor. My air exchange is down to 51%, so he wants a total body CAT scan with dye to rule out any blood clots. They have to check with my nephologist to see if they need to take kidney precautions (whatever they are). I also have to go for an echocardiogram which I'm due for anyway. I will see him again following my sleep study on the 26th. I went to the van conversion place this afternoon. They fixed the seat belt chime. Of course, the door opened and the ramp deployed every time they checked it. The called the company and they felt that it was just a loose connection, so they tightened all connections. I joked that I had fixed it by hitting one of the many potholes. They said that might have been the what happened. They are ordering a master computer board to have there if it continues to happen. I'm beat - it took me over two hours to get home (should be an hour or less) because of road construction and pouring rains. I think it is time to sit back and relax. laurie
Guest guest
Alice I hope you have someone as nice as I had to do the pulmonary function testing. If you have reports from any previous studies, I would recommend you take them along. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Fri, 14 May 2004 16:21:53 -0600 > To: > > Subject: Re: tests and van > > Laurie, > > Sounds like a rough day and I do think a good rest is in order. Guest guest
Laurie, I do hope you are able to sit and relax tonight. I am sorry to hear about all the problems with your PFT's. I am glad that they are doing a total body scan to rule anything out. Sorry to hear that you are still having so many van problems. Pot holes can be useful in fixing loose connections though! :-) I am keeping you in my thoughts. Guest guest
Laurie, I looked back at the results of my pulmonary function test but didn't see anything about " air exchange " mentioned on my test. It showed " oxygen consumption " ... is that the same thing? Or could air exchange be referred to as something else? Maggie > Hi all > > I had my pulmonary function tests and blood gases done. Guest guest
Maggie I can't tell you what it might be called. I had a previous report and they were able to compare them. It was the test inside of the cyclinder where I had to pant and then expel the air I still had in my lungs. There may have been something else that was part of this, I just don't know. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Sat, 15 May 2004 04:30:01 -0000 > To: > Subject: Re: tests and van > > Laurie, > I looked back at the results of my pulmonary function test but > didn't see anything about " air exchange " mentioned on my test. Guest guest
a Thanks for your nice post. You have always been there for me. I do plan to relax today. I might go out and try the ramp and do some more practicing in my chair in the garage, but that is far from taxing. Have a good day, laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Fri, 14 May 2004 22:29:38 -0500 > To: > Subject: Re: tests and van > > Laurie, > I do hope you are able to sit and relax tonight.
