Guest guest
Hi Adam, So nice to find out more about you. Yup, music and gardening are my two passions, too. ' I'm sorry this is going to be very short because I've been on-line for too long and am getting VERY pooped, but I felt I needed to write to you about the B vitamin injection. I touched upon blood versus " functional " vitamin tests in a post to somebody else today. I usually have much higher enough levels of B vitamins in my blood (enough to make one think the levels are normal), but FUNCTIONAL B vitamin tests that measure the byproducts of the coenxymes that SHOULD be there if I were actually USING the B vitamins are invariably VERY, VERY low. So, just because your blood levels of B12 are OK, that doesn't mean you are able to use it and you also have to have high enough levels of cobalt to be able to use it, too. Don't know if you could pursuade your doc to do functinal B vitamin tests, because they are expensive and it's hard to find a lab that does them. A cheaper solution is to beg for a trial B complex with B12 injection (or just a B 12 injection ) and see how you feel. It's my belief that many people who are ill (especially with things like mito disorders) probably have some sort of gut dysbiosis component problem resulting from their illness where they are not able to efficiently absorp, utilise, or store some nutrients properly. Thus, I think oral supplementaion sometimes isn't enough. In my case I KNOW it isn't as far as the B vitamins are concerned. I am able to take the minerals you asked about orally, but if I don't have enough B vitiamins in my system first, it seems like they simply don't work. I have to take them at the same time as my injection or all the symptoms I associate with the mineral deficicies get worse. PLUS, without the injections, my gut and stomach quickly feel like one giant muscle cramp so I can't even manage to take the mineral supplements without throwing up. I need the injections every 24 hours, but that's highly unusual, most people who need injection can get by with them much less frequently . Thanks for your kind words re; my " oddity " . I like " rarity " much better. I like those musical examples you listed, too. You ask what I liked/like to listen to best......well......um...my favourite is the BEACH BOYS, followed by " The Lord Is My Shepherd " from " The Requiem " by Rutter. Also like music from " Les Mis " and " Guys and Dolls'. Best Wishes, Anita
