Guest guest
Have you ever tried magnesium? I had eye twitching that disappeared within hours of eating high magnesium foods. At the time I also had significant nagging peripheral nuerological pain in my hands and feet and after three weeks of high magnesium foods, this disappeared as well. Now anytime I start twitching I think to increase magnesium rich foods and it always does the trick. For awhile I thought I was getting enough with just green juices which have magnesium. But that wasn't enough. I added lots of nuts and seeds, raw, and they have the most magnesium in them. That was when I started seeing relief. Guest guest
Hi Laurie and Adam, I've had the similar positive results with extra magnesium and eye twitches. I've kept hoping that a really healthy organic natural food diet would keep me supplied with all the nutrients I seem to need, but I find I STILL have to take a lot of nutritional supplementation or I downslide. I just don't absorb, utilise, or store nutritional components like I wish I could. Best Wishes, Anita
Guest guest
I actually had this happening for several weeks... turns out iron deficiency can cause this... I took an iron supplement for about a month & haven't had the problem since! Guest guest
Anita Thanks for the magnesium suggestion. I already take 2000 mg. since my kidney's don't hang on to it and put it back into my system, but I am due to have it checked again. For me, it is really important to keep tabs on the electrolytes. When in balance and in range, I feel better. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Wed, 12 May 2004 15:49:17 -0000 > To: > Subject: Re: eye twitching > > Hi Laurie and Adam, > > I've had the similar positive results with extra magnesium and > eye twitches. She is also on TPN so is getting a bunch of it in there. Did the levels of other nutrients start dropping all at the same time or one by one? The only thing that she has a problem with right now is the magnesium. And did they discover you had a problem through bloodwork or urine tests or both? Guest guest
Adam Thanks, I will have to try more nuts in addition to the magnesium I take. It is nearing the end of the school year which is always stressful, so I think that has something to do with it. It is also very hot here - 85 today and I don't deal with heat very well. laurie > From: AdamM321@... > Reply-To: > Date: Wed, 12 May 2004 11:32:46 EDT > To: > Subject: eye twitching > > Have you ever tried magnesium? Guest guest
Malisa I started with spilling potassium, and then it was magnesium and then phosphous. I had been supplementing with my internist doing blood work. When it kept getting worse, she sent me to the nephologist. He did a 24 hour urine and blood work at the end of the 24 hours. It showed that the levels were high in my urine and low in my blood. Now my internist does the orders for blood work when I see every 3 months and then she talks with the nephologist who decides if I need to see him or not. laurie > From: Malilibear@... > Reply-To: > Date: Wed, 12 May 2004 20:52:14 EDT > To: > Subject: Re: Re: eye twitching > > In a message dated 5/12/2004 5:08:50 PM Eastern Standard Time, > lfitzger@... writes: > Thanks for the magnesium suggestion. Guest guest
Chris I wish it were that easy. I can not take iron at all. I even have to take iron-free multiple vitamins. Many years ago they thought I had cancer because they couldn't find a reason for such a low level of iron in my blood, since I had been on iron. They did a bone marrow test and found that all the iron was being deposited in the marrow and it was so concentrated that none could get into the blood stream. I was told to never take iron again. Thanks for the suggestion. laurie > From: chris1gill@... > Reply-To: > Date: Wed, 12 May 2004 20:41:34 EDT > To: > Subject: Re: Eye Twitching > > I actually had this happening for several weeks... turns out iron deficiency > can cause this...
