Guest guest
I don't understand or know much about Graves disease, except there is some in my family. It is very obvious when looking at old family photos that there is quite a bit of TED there. The only ones I knew of that was ever treated were my great aunt and my uncle. Both had surgical removal of their glands. I also used to have very large eyes, but they are smaller now, so I have no idea, but think my thyroid just burned out before it got bad enough to cause permanent damage. I was a very hyper teenager, and weighed 98 pounds and ate like a HOG! But I also understand Hashi's has hyper swings too, so as I have never had antibodies tested, I don't even know which it is I have had. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
, So are you just treating yourself for HypoT now? With your family history, it might be helpful to test for TPO and TSI antibodies. I'm certain that I was hypoT for 17 years before stress triggered me into Grave's. And you don't want to go there if you can avoid it. SAMMIE > I don't understand or know much about Graves disease, except there is some in my family. Guest guest
I was getting the generic from MYRXFORLESS, now I will have to try Nature Throid from one of the other online pharmacies. I have enough for a couple months right now, so about mid month I will order more. Me & the CAT he takes alot of this too! Ain't bad enough I have to buy stock in the company for me, but the damn cat eats 3 grains a day too! But he is feeling much better on this dosage too, so I can't begrudge him! *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
, one of the best ways to keep from having to destroy the thyroid when found hyperT/Graves is to use block and replace. Something about block and replace (which many dr's refuse to practice here in the states) gives a patient much better odds of getting past hyperT/Graves with much better odds. It's just a shame that it's practiced more in Japan from what my first Endo told me, and not more here. Finding somebody knowledgeable is the tough part. :-( SandyE~Houston Re: Adrenal Issues/Tish et all >>But depending on my next set of labs in 5 weeks, I may add Cytomel or up my Synthroid since I was still feeling HypoT on 1.25mgs of methimazole. << If you were feeling hypo on 1.25 mcg Methimazole, why are you now taking MORE of it which would make you MORE hypo? *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat?
