Guest guest
Hi Alice, I really just musing about this and am a total newbie. I was thinking more along the lines of the possibility of either people who already might have a genetic predispostion to mito disease, but no symptoms, having them appear full blown after the stress of the Lyme infection. Or, perhaps the idea of the Lyme spirochete organism (which is a really nasty one) causing some sort of non-genetic based mitochondrial imbalance. I found your comment about testing positive for the Lyme antibody interesting because we'd just been discussing Lyme on the adultmitos groups. Would sure love to see data on whether adult onset, non-familial mito disorders cluster in Lyme prevalent areas. If it turns out I do have a mito disease, it's possible it's genetic, but I think it's just as possible that it's spontaneous. Best Wishes, Anita
