Guest guest Posted May 7, 2004 Report Share Posted May 7, 2004 Laurie, I made an appointment with my PCP to discuss the " issues " going on right now. He doesn't make hospital calls anymore so he wasn't truly involved except by phone when I was in the hospital. I know he doesn't want a PICC, central line, or g-tube, which has been suggested at different times, but we are the point where something has to be done. I also called my case worker at my insurance company. I found out that she left so I have a new one. THe one I talked to today told me that I could have Home Health Care come in to give IV fluids. She asked if my veins were a hard stick or if I had a lot of scare tissue from a lot of IV's or blood tests. Yes I do! She mentioned a PICC, so I will bring that up to the doctor. I am planning on doing nothing but rest this weekend, as I had to work the three mornings this week that I wasn't in the hospital. By the way, how is your van working out? Are you getting used to backing up into it? Do you sit in the chair to drive it? I move to a regular seat, but I know not everyone does. I hope things are going well for you.
