Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Boy, some of those on that sight are really bad! And some look just like his. Dylan was on Steroids pills for 3 weeks for his first migraine in Dec 2002. In January 2003 the pain started in his knees. We figured the steroids kicked in the EDS. He had the stretch marks on his back from about age 12, all 5 of my boys did. But the bigger purple ones started after the steroids. He sees endocrinology Friday, so maybe we will get some kind of answer. By long term steroid use I would think they are talking about months of use. Thanks for sending that site. I had seen many, but not that one. I wonder if the steroids caused this? Hopefully Fridays appointment will give me some answers. Thanks, Cindy C. Re: Striae Marks has Dylan been on any kind of steroids in oral or creams?? i found great pics on the dermatology atlas site with these marks attributed to steriods, drug induced cushings, a variant of " normal " stretch marks from growth/puberty, drug reactions,EDS, and numerous other reasons. here is the link to the site i was talking about above: http://dermatlas.med.jhmi.edu/derm/result.cfm? OutputSet=1 & BO=AND & Diagnosis=81 Sharon > > > Hi all, I took some pictures of Dylan's stretchmarks tonight. I had been on search engine and looked up striae/Ehlers Danlos and found that type 8 is only one that has stretchmarks like his, from what I can find. But type 8 has severe tooth and gum problems at an early age. (teen years) Dylan or the family has no teeth problems. Then I came across a link that had EDS and Cushings in the same link and his Stretchmarks and 80% of his symptoms are under that syndrome. I was wondering if you could look at his striae marks and tell me if yours are any thing like these, and if so, what type are you? > PS, the ones on his back are 5 years old, so they have turned white, but are deep. All 5 of my boys have them on the back, all the other boys' backs are worse, but it is the only place they have them. My twins have then on the back really bad. they cover 18 inches horizontal like Dylans, but are much deeper. Let me know if you cannot get into the site. > When you click on each picture, the view is larger. Guest guest
She looked them up on the web today. She has picked one out, and it only costs $36.00. I'll probably get that for her now. She'll probably be the only kid in Covington with one. Maybe she'll start a trend, which she seems to do anyway! She got ahead of everyone with the fashions in England. She gets kids copying her all the time. That'd be funny if they all started wearing them! Now I'd just like her to start the fad of using the rolling backpacks! Nobody whose anyone uses them here. I've heard they are quite the rage in Calif, and a few other places. It sure would save her back!
