The early symptoms are itching and fatigue. Other symptoms can be fatty stools (they float), enlarged liver, abdominal pain, fatty deposits under skin. Guest guest
Sometimes when the body starts to detox itself, liver functioning improved, the toxins come out through the skin pores causing itching or even rashes. This is just toxin elimination. I've had it often when taking stuff for detoxing candida problems in the past. It goes away after a while. I would think that when starting to take thyroid supplementation that it would cause detoxing in the body because the thyroid acts on the immune system & starts a detox process it hasn't been doing when non-functioning. So it could cause the liver, gland, skin & other organs to function more optimally & thus the toxins start being eliminated through the skin. That's a sign of health, not of sickness or allergy. Caroline Re: itching + bilary cirrhosis Oh this is not cool. I had severe itching (driving me crazy) as you may recall about 3 weeks ago when I made the switch from synthroid to Armour. It did almost go away after a few weeks, but has been coming back a little the last day or so. I'm thinking because it is about time to increase my dose. Also having lots of neck and shoulder achiness. I am only on 1 grain so far. Would be interested to hear more about this though.
Guest guest
I have had some itching this year that I have not experienced before. For me I don;t think it is a hypo symptom of this liver problem. I think Caroline is right in that in detoxiong some of the toxins are forced out through the skin. I have also had much less since I slowed my DHEA WAYYYY down. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes?
