, at my lab, the normal range for A1C is 4.6-6.5. I try to keep

mine in the low to mid 5's. I definitely would not want it over 6.

A person can have a normal A1C and still have diabetes, if there are

enough lows to average out the spikes. My endo said they don't use the

A1C for diagnosis.
