Guest guest
Hi Laurie, Thanks for the words of advice... is the Lamictal the muscle relaxant you use twice a day? My neurologist is trying me on a low dose of tizanidine at night now, it makes me SO tired though, I can't take it during the day The muscle spasms are the worst though... I do get botox into my jaw (it spasms shut for good) & also recently into my neck, I don't know if the neck was particularly successful however.... I can ask about the lamictal... What is the Quinine you mentioned? I've not ever heard of that (I'm newish here....) Thanks! I have no suggestions for the fatigue, but can certainly identify with what you are dealing with. My only suggestion is to listen to your body. As for the muscle spasms, I take a muscle relaxant twice a day, take Lamictal twice a day and use Quinine whenever I have over-done and the spasms turn into cramps. laurie
Guest guest
Chris The muscle relaxant I use is Flexeril. I have also used Baclofen. I take the Flexeril twice a day unless I really need the third dose. I had more sleepiness with the Baclofen and couldn't take it three times a day. It did take me awhile to get use to the Flexeril. Lamictal is an anti-convulsant, but it calms the nerves of the body as well. This decreases my myoclonus, neuropathy and muscle spasms and cramps by working on the nerves causing them. Quinine is a drug used for malaria. It has been used for cramping for many, many years. My 29 year old son took it when he was 5 for many years as he had severe cramping at night and sometimes during the day. Now we know it was mito, but the doctor's thought it was due to growth. It is also used in parkinson's disease to reduce the cramping and twisting of the body. It is a prescription. laurie > From: chris1gill@... > Reply-To: > Date: Wed, 7 Apr 2004 23:06:54 EDT > To: > Subject: Re: Welcome to - Introduction - Laurie > > Hi Laurie, > > Thanks for the words of advice... is the Lamictal the muscle relaxant you use > twice a day? Guest guest
Hi Laurie, It definitely sounds like your doctor is more pro-active than mine... she just looks at me when I mention the muscle spasms & shrugs her shoulders just about... I'm totally serious on that! I'm very unhappy with her as I am new with her & my doctor left the area! I'm stuck with her I will ask about the flexerell tomorrow... I just started the other drug she put me on the tizanidine, but I don't think I can take it, it's disturbing my sleep terribly... Actually, that drug is like baclofen only stronger.... I do take baclofen, but it doesn't seem to do a thing for me... not a THING!! Hmmm...... Well, I will ask about the flexerell!! Thanks!
