Guest guest
Mike, Last week I'd mentioned letting you know the types of therapies available in the phone book that looked like they had promise. Today, my rheumatologist gave me the name of the one I felt would work best considering my interest in using " massage therapy, etc. Let you know on coverage for massage therapy.) We have a new insurance co. They cover more than the standard PT offered in most hospital/office based therapies. I believe medically prescribed massage may be covered, if my memory is right. [so that's a toss up! <g>] The rheumatologist feels it may well be the piriformus muscle somehow " pinching " the sciatic nerve as it runs under or through it in right buttock-from some cause: spasm, muscle tightness, bursitis. There's an outside chance the nerve symptoms are coming from my low back, even though I feel there's no pain in my back-no matter how I move. The problems start as soon as I stand up and pressure is put on the area. *When this first started up it felt like my hip partially went out and won't go back in. It still feels that way. It feels like something is caught and stopping my hip from externally rotating as far as normal. He gave me my choice of two places to have therapy. But said to call the spine therapy clinic first. I'll keep you posted after I've been there. CindyH Wisc.
