Guest guest
Ok, I swear, as soon as I feel like I get DJ's helmet adjusted and it's fitting better (not covering his ears etc.), it seems to start shifting more again and feeling a bit loose. We have only had the helmet for 2 1/2 weeks and it's been adjusted twice. I don't think they did a great job the first time though. Then I went in this past Tues., because I felt it was shifting too much and covering his one ear. When we left things were great and now in the last day or two it seems that ear is getting rubbed a bit again and the helmet is shifting more. Last night DJ had a bit of a red mark on the top of his head where the opening is, pretty much the shape of the opening, only on one side though, the same side where it tends to fall on that ear some. So, I kept it off last night since it didn't fade. However, I am not sure if it's more irritation than a " red spot " . It's not really red, just pink, it was still a little pink this morning so I put the helmet back on with some hydrocortozone. I especially noticed then that right there is where the helmet can shift more towards the back, or the front. My question is.... 1. What does a red spot look like?? How can I tell the diff. between that and a skin irritation? 2. Is this normal that even though it was just adjusted Tues. that his head would have changed so much since then that I'd have to go in again this week?! (My next. scheduled appt. is a week from Mon. ,and they schedule appts. biweekly) Thanks.....I hate to keep the helmet off if it's just an irritation, I worry to miss any correction time, but I also don't want to keep it on if it needs adjustment. My ortho is on vacation this week, but I guess he said if needed they'd send me to another one. Happy Easter!
