Guest guest
Ok, correct me if I am wrong, it is my understanding that cradle cap and eczema are the same thing -- atopic dermatitis. My 5 year old has terrible cradle cap that at times has made his hair fall out. My 2 year old had chronic eczema for most of his young life. Since I have taken them off dairy (the 2 year old completely, the 5 year old gets it occasionally) they have both gotten better. The 2 year old has no eczema unless exposed to a food allergen, and the 5 year old only has a small amount of cradle cap. I was advised on this loop and others that skin conditions are the body's way of eliminating toxins and you are supposed to heal them from the inside out by eliminating the aggravating toxins, whatever they are, and not by putting something on it, which will only supress the reaction, not eliminate it. Hope that helps! M. in Michigan dh (married 11/2/91) 10 years this year! dd Abby (3/94) ds Connor (8/96) ds Ethan (7/99) ds Lee (born 8/02/01!!!) Guest guest
And sometimes " putting something on it " is a wonderful way of getting a needed substance inside of the body to correct an imbalance. Both emu oil and evening primrose oil penetrate through the skin and into the blood stream to provide needed essential fatty acids. They do not supress the reaction. << I was advised on this loop and others that skin conditions are the body's way of eliminating toxins and you are supposed to heal them from the inside out by eliminating the aggravating toxins, whatever they are, and not by putting something on it, which will only supress the reaction, not eliminate it. >>

Guest guest
The elimination thing is all good. But sometimes it is not easy to spot the culprit. I tried eliminating things when she was younger but it did no good. If I do an elimination thing again, it will probably be after allergy testing. My girl friend's baby had eczema. She thought she might be allergic to this and that but it turned out to be grass. j, >From: Mand@... >Reply-Vaccinations >Vaccinations >Subject: Re: Cradle Cap >Date: Sun, 19 Aug 2001 14:01:24 EDT > >Ok, correct me if I am wrong, it is my understanding that cradle cap and >eczema are the same thing -- atopic dermatitis. Guest guest
Becky, I would think that anything fungal like dandruff could be caused by yeast though I don't know if cradle cap is related to dandruff. Sounds like your doctor is treating it like dandruff. Hope > My 4 year old daughter has cradle cap. She hasn't had this since her > first year that I know of. Even with enzymes, I could not give much milk or this problem would occur. The enzymes removed the behaviors associated with milk, but not this problem. Guest guest
I got rid of my son's cradle cap by mixing sodium bicarb (baking soda) with water to make a paste, then leaving it on my son's head for 20 minutes (while he was in the bath). Then, give it a good brush (hard as he will allow) and wash off. I had to repeat this treatment about a year later but it really worked for us. HTH. Guest guest
I think just having to wash my son's hair every day because of his starband has helped his cradle cap to clear up. Lesley
