Guest guest
Inn case you don't have my 1st 3 readings here they are: 8/1/05 2 hr breakfast pp 107. I ate 2 brown rice flour pancakes made w/ rice dream and a bit of saf oil and a small pork pattie plus water. 8/1 2 hr pp lunch. I ate cheerios w/ rice dream, a few slices of avocado, a small piece of bread and 1 medium shrimp and water . Reading 104 8/2 2hr breakfast pp same food as day before. Reading 107 Now for the 2 new readings you asked for: 8/2 1 hr pp after dinner. I ate llettuce salad w/ avocado and about 4 large cornchips, zuchinni fried in small amout of safflower oil with a bit of egg on the zucks(just a coating of egg before cooking the zucks) , a medium sized piece of lamb, medium portion of white rice, and a tiny portion of white lasagne made w/ goat's cheese. Reading 123 Today 8/3 my fasting bg before eating anything was 80. It was a long 10 hour fast. These 5 readings were either finger or thumb pricks. Thanks again. Looking forward to your feedback Janet Kovak

You are basing a lot of your concern on one high two-hour number; I am starting to wonder if that reading was erroneous. You also mention " I'm thin (just gained 8 pounds which i WANT to keep on because my weight was getting dangerousely low, which for me means eating pleanty of carbs, i don't crave sugar and i don't need to go to the bathroom all that often. " All I can say is that, if you are pre-diabetic, you are at a very early stage. I couldn't possibly eat those foods and get those results. However, I hope you noticed the difference between the one-hour and two-hour readings. I would suggest that if you use this experience to be aware of the need for a healthy diet and moderate exercise it's possible you may never qualify to officially join us. You are already seeing an endo (I presume for something else) and I'm sure the endo will monitor things too. I don't think that the full " test, test, test " routine is applicable to you. However, you will get some benefits if you make use of your meter to occasionally monitor your menu and diet with one-hour tests. If the numbers start creeping up it will be time to see the doc again and come back for advice. Cheers Alan, T2, Australia. -- Diet and not enough exercise.
