Guest guest
Caroline, your blood tests show that you are still not taking enough armour, free T3 is low, T4 (was that free T4 or just T4) is also low. You have thyroid antibodies so the TSH is meaningless - although it is higher than it was last time. If I was in your shoes I would continue self-medicating, you will know by your symptoms when you have reached the right level of armour. Why spend money on a doc who doesn't know what he is doing and won't prescribe armour anyway? I don't know what to suggest about the GERD, I found that digestive enzymes worked for me but one site I read suggested taking them between meals as well as with meals, perhaps that might help? Lynda (in the UK) GOT MY RESULTS!! My GP dr. finally got back from vacation & called me yesterday with my latest blood test results. Here they are tho I haven't a clue what to make of them or how to remedy them. Hoping someone else can shed some light on these numbers for me. Remember I'm now on l 3/4 grains generic Armour since starting at l/4 grain prescribed by my GP on Nov 3rd & increasing myself. Comments on the ranges are by my dr.: TSH - .3 (.4-.50 range) Last results in October on Synthroid was .23 Antibodies - micro..73 (s/b less than 2 so this is way too high) Antibodies - thyroglob...8 (s/b less than 7) Mercury - 4 (-10 is good) Ferritin - 52 (range: 20-288) T3 uptake - 26 (range: 22-35) T4 - 6 - (range: 4.5-12.5) Free T3 - 0.87 (range: 0.8 -1.8) Cortisol - 9.7 - (range: 3-22)

Guest guest
>>Oh, and BP meds too << GOOD girl! LOL It is funny but all the horrible years I was on Synthroid, I tried MANY supplements " guaranteed " to make me feel better. None of them did. Now if I don;t feel a CHANGE for the better in how I feel when I try something for a month, it goes in the trash or to a needy friend that might like to try it. I have given away many multi vitamins, individual vitamins, adrenal support, adrenal glandulars, thyroid glandulars, thyroid boosters, hydrocortisone, pred tabs, " vitality " formulas, and enzyme formulas. In 25 years of feeling like HELL I bet I have tried 200 different supplements and now to be down to hormones only... amazing what we will buy in our desperation to feel good. Guest guest
Thanx for the suggestions, Kerry. I will try that. Am stopping taking bunches of supplements today & just going to take my liquid vitamin/mineral/protein formula as of tomorrow & that's all. Except the probiotics & colostrum that is. They go down easy & help me, not hurt me. Too much water also causes GERD I'm discovering & others on the GERD groups say so too. So I'm only sucking ice cubes now & having water only to mix other stuff in it I need to take. I'm not doing too much cleansings...haven't done any at all in years. This liver flush is the only one I've been doing but that's about over. I had to stop taking Rx Foxamax for my bones rebuilding as it was definitely causing GERD Big Time. So that's gone now too. The calcitonin in the Armour should remedy that in time as I increase my dosage. Hope so anyway. Caroline
Guest guest
Thanx Lynda for your response. No that wasn't Free T4, just T4 tho I asked my dr. for FT4, she didn't order it but I thot she had. Stupid doctors!! I'm beginning to hate them all! I knew my TSH would be off because of the high antibodies too. Yes I know I'm still hypoT & not on enough Armour. I planned to increase to 2 grains Jan. 1st. I need to do this slowly so have to be patient, I know. I'm already taking the enzymes between meals too. But only for a couple of days. I guess that needs time too. Oh well.... Just trying to make it through the winter here. I've already cancelled Christmas at my sister's. Can't eat that food anyway & not feeling well enough to even drive that far & back home. It's in the afternoon & I always need to sleep for hours then as I'm a zombie in the afternoons. So don't want to be a zombie or falling asleep there either. Bah humbug!! I can do without it...no problem with staying home. I'm far more comfortable here anyway. Caroline
Guest guest
I got my blood draw about 1:00 pm in the afternoon. So it wasn't in the morning. What's that mean? > Caroline
Guest guest
I'm not worried about the TSH at all..it's useless & skewed, IMO, because of the high antibodies I think. Didn't know I have Hashi's tho. Will have to read up on that one. I am planning to increase the Armour to 2 grains in a week. Have to go slow on that dosage increase. I need more iron tho I guess. What to take for that & how much? Still need am FT4 test too..she didn't get that one for me tho I asked her too...blasted doctors! Looks like I need something to raise my cortisol levels too...doesn't it? What to take for that? I don't know. Wishing I had a decent doctor who knows these things & prescribes well. There isn't a Free T4 test, but the regular Free T3 is low too. I'm surprised that your TSH is as low as that with the amount of Armour you're on. But if these were my labs, I'd be upping the Armour a bit more...and not worrying about getting a suppressed TSH. > Cindi
