Hi

I am 7 days away fro myo. I know I saw somewhere some ideas on what

to bring to the hospital. Now I can't find the posts. Any

suggestions would be great. I'll be in a private room so I'm not too

concerned with the roommate issue. More about what clothing was

comformtable, etc.

Thanks,

Unfortunately, the Yahoo groups search engine is less than ideal. Here's

one of the recent threads about what to take to the hospital:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/uterinefibroids/message/43390

I didn't bring much with me when I went in for my myo, partly because I was

determined to be out of the hospital as soon as possible. I didn't feel

like I needed to bring much with me, as I knew the hospital provided

sanitary pads, loose " underwear, " a toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, and so

on. They also provided little socks with rubber soles that you could wear

instead of slippers. I think my minimalist approach was a reaction to when

I had my daughter 7 months earlier. When I went into the hospital to be

induced, I packed way too much and regretted it ;) I was only in the

hospital for two days, and I packed as if I was going to be entertaining

myself there for a week. For the myo, it wasn't worth it to lug my personal

stuff in for a short stay (the doctor predicted I'd be there two nights,

and in the end he sent me home after one).

Here's the stuff I brought:

STUFF I USED:

bathrobe

walkman

novel

hair brush

anacrostic puzzles

going-home clothes

phone numbers of friends/family to call

STUFF I DIDN'T USE:

slippers

lip balm

cross-stitch project

blow dryer (I waited until I got home to take a shower)
