Belinda-

We went through the exact same thing that you're going through! At 1 yr

old, my son started to develop what looked like a cold/allergies. His

nose was all stuffed up, he was snoring, he couldn't eat very well and was

miserable. Since we live in a very allergy-prone part of the country we

tested and tested. Part of this reason is because we had an HMO and they

wouldn't just refer us to a specialist until we did all this.

Finally, at his 2 yr check, he had gone from the 90% in weight to 20%!! I

freaked and demanded that our ped refer him to a surgeon for a consultation

right away! Sure enough, it was his adnoids and tonsils. He had surgery

just a couple weeks after that (OH, btw... he had developed sleep apnea by

that time too) The first night after the surgery was the worst (he was only

2) but he recovered quickly after that. It cured him completely!! No more

red, stuffy nose. No more sleep apnea. He could eat again! I sure wish

that we had been able to have the surgery much earlier! Good luck to you~

Belinda,

My oldest son had his t and a a few years ago. It seemed to help him out a

lot with the issues he was having. He was constantly sick and getting strep

over and over. We had no problems scheduling as you are having though. What

info are you looking for specifically? I am glad to put in my .02.
