Well.. speaking of my other list.. a list member just sent this out to the group

and I think the message is a great one for us too. Alice

This might be off topic, but sure saved me a bundle. Was going out of

town to a convention held at a Hilton Hotel. No room in the inn when I

phoned for reservations. BUT their " sister chain " the Hampton Inns did

have a room. Satisfaction guaranteed, deluxe continental breakfast and

all that. So I booked the room, and asked if they had the ADA compliant

things for deaf people (vibrating alarm clock, door knock signaller,

phone flasher, motion sensor, strobe for fire alarm, etc.). The

reservation person asked if I was handicapped, and I said, Yes, so the

rate went from $139 to $89. YEP, $50 LESS if you are disabled.

Breakfast was great. One day it was scrambled eggs and sausage, along

with various tees, coffee, biscuits, bagels, muffins, cereal, fresh

fruit, and so on. The next day it was Belgian waffles and sausage plus

all the above listed things. They had apples and bananas available 24/7,

tea, coffee, cocoa 24/7 and cookies in the lobby at night. So, if you're

travelling go with a Hampton Inn and tell them you are disabled, and it

will get you a better rate.
