People Asking Questions...

Well, this weekend was our first official outing to a large crow of

people. I wasn't sure how people were going to react to 's DOC

Band. It was a cousins 1st Birthday Party and it was okay. I was a

bit overwhelmed with all the questions. These are people I know,

but not that I talk to in a daily basis. Everyone asked the same

questions. But some of them would approach with the " ohh what

happened? " and would put a puppy face on. And I'd just briefly

explained. And, when I took the band off to clean 's head a

bit, a couple of people said, " I don't even see why he needs it " I

guess they were expecting something extremely severe, and Thank God

's Plagio is moderate. But after a long look they were

like " ohh okay I see a little on this angle... " hehehe..

loved the attention he was all giggles and flirting. My cousin even

said that they were going to look into the DOC Band but with the

positional sleeping they got great results for their Down's Syndrome

baby.

Prior to this outing, we had gone to the grocery stores and parks,

no one stared like I thought they would, and I was coming out with

the " DON'T STARE " attitude due to postings from other people in

different websites postings.

I am happy that we are doing something about it and s is still

the happy go lucky little baby boy. I'll load up a pic so you all

can meet him. And I don't mind people asking...=)

Lots of love for everyone that's going through this w/ their little

ones.

We had the same thing happen at my Nephew's school open house. Every parent had

to look. My nephew said he was getting upset that everyone was staring at

. I said that is was o.k. The band would be good for in the

end and he didn't care that people looked at him. He just put his beautiful

smile on and we kept walking. He is doing so well in the band that it sure

makes me feel a lot more at ease about it. If he was fussing or anything that I

would have more hesitation about it. But so far he is great. Knock on wood.

We have his first birthday coming up in a few weeks and all the family will be

there to ask questions and look him over. I think the more people know about it

the better. I wish I knew someone that had gone thru this before we did. I am

glad this site is here though for all of us.
