Guest guest
I have discovered that my sugar readings are also higher the more active I am. When I am not out and about and physically quiet, my readings are considerably lower and lead toward hypoglycemia. When I'm busy leading an active life, the readings go up. My PCP thinks I'm crazy. I don't think I've convinced her of this. Alice
Guest guest
Alice, That is exactly how I am. My gp and the mito doc believed me. Dr Tick said in his usual way--of course, you are not like other diabetics. But that is the reason I fired the endocronologist. She did not believe me--even when I told her I had worked up and down on a ladder physically sanding my kitchen cupboard doors--very hard work for me. Four hours later after only drinking water and diet soda my blood sugar was up 200 points. All she wanted to do was keep upping the lantus that I take at bedtime. My pcp believes me--when I first met her she was interested in helping me because she studied alot of chemistry and how it relates to the body. Althoug she is a general physician she is interested in this stuff. She thinks that the being active and producing extra lactic acid somehow interfers with the body's ability to use the natural insulin that is produced and also the injected insulin. Of course that is her theory--sounds ok to me but what we do about it she and I are still experimenting.
