I thought she had a hysterectomy? Or did she have both? I saw an NP

at Women to Women who told me she had a hysterectomy. I think she

states that in her book as well. Why did she have both?

Ummmm, nope..... she had a myomectomy. Here's a quote from her book

on page 246 ' " When he was finished with my surgery, my pelvic

surgeon told me, " Well I'm happy to report that you now have

completely helathy and normal pelvic organs. I didn't have to remove

a thing except the fibroid! " ' That is unless she's had more surgery

since then.....but Woman to Woman would know. Are you sure the ND

didn't say myomectomy?

Nope, I know the difference it was a hysterectomy. It was a bad day

for me so it sticks out. I flew to Maine because because the

physicians in my area wanted to remove my uterus - I was in a BAD

emotional state. The last thing at 35 I was ready to face was a

hysterectomy. The NP's comment was even Dr. Northrup had a

hysterectomy. It sent me over the edge - it was the last thing I

wanted or needed to hear. I wrote a letter to WtoW about my

experience so if she meant myo she had several opportunities to

correct herself.

I did just look in my Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom book and it does

say she had a myo in 1996/7 before children. I know I have also read

about her hysterectomy, but I don't know where.
