I am glad to hear some others are making similar observations about

carbs. I do want to clarify. I have carbs, I don't restrict myself

to the Atkins or South Beach (modified Atikins, that says watch the

quality of fats and foods). I just have a heavy concentration on

protein foods and the foods that combine protein with carbs, like milk

and beans. I do eat a lot of vegetables, just not the extremely

starchy ones. (And NO pasta, bread, baked good, or potatoes, of

course.) For vegetables I hit the ones that Atkins and South Beach

suggest, but I eat more of them than they say. I have as much fruit

as I want, but I make sure I have some very low fat cheese or nuts with

it. This is a change from my old eating habits, where I never paid

attention to carb concentrations, and might have a meal of a lot of

paste, or overeat on bread (my strongest food passion....goooood

bread). Candy bars that have fat don't seem to bother me as much as

sugar candy without the fat, although I never have a lot of sweets

anyway. This new eating style knocked off 20 pounds in the last year

too. Not my goal, but it was welcome. My motivation was to try to

reduce my brain fog/lapses/extreme bouts of fatigue, and I think it is

parts of the solution for me. I am glad to hear that it is not

contrary to what mito patients should be doing.

Thanks again, to all who responded.

Regards

Sunny
