You know I don't think we did a ct scan back then....gosh it was a long time ago! Hard to believe it's been 10 yrs. but the other day when I put my ci on it didn't turn on (dust in the battery case) and until the problem was resolved I nearly panicked thinking about doing without.

We will see what this new implant team in Atlanta has to say about things. You are happy with the 24?

For those who are not in the know excuse us Alice and I are both deafened and use cochlear implants or ci .

Vivian,

Insurance is approving the second side but that depends on the insurance. It's always hard to changed audiologists but sometimes it makes a world of diffierence. I've been hearing that several people in TN are seeing other audiologists and one in particular is seeing Bill Shapiro at NYU.

Vivian - when they did the CT Scan for your first implant, did they see the misshapened cochlea? The N24C Advanced may be what you need or at the very least.. the 24C Soft Tip.

Re: CI and Stella - Vivian

I would like to have the other side done yes but would insurance pay for it? At this point what are isurers doing regarding both sides? I am afraid I have not kept up with that sort of thing. I am really looking forward to working with this implant group in Atlanta. I am sure they are much more up to date and have a great deal more experience to offer me than what I have found here in Knoxville. As you know it does make a very large difference.Vivian
