Hi all,

I have a 12cm fibroid on a 5cm 'pedestool', sitting anteriorally. The

IR called it partially pedunculated, said I'm " not an ideal candidate " for

UAE due this {and due to the size}.

I have pressure, lotsa intestinal gas. My bleeding isn't too too bad

[cramps SUCK though!]. Chinese herbs may be helping a bit, but most days,

I'm damn aware that a grapefruit is pressing against all things abdominal!

And do any of you feel freaked out when you've noticed it shifting around?

IT'S ALIVE!!!

I'm 39 years old, have probably 13 more years with lil' darlin'{or

monster, depending on the day}. before my estrogen subsides. And who the

hell know if it will grow, shrink, stay the same?!?!

If you have/had a similar fibroid with similar symptoms, please write me

and let me know how you have thought about the myo decision. Seems so many

women do the myo when they feel they may become anemic or die.

How do you decide, when you 'just' have to deal with mostly daily

discomfort, but fear it getting worse, and realize it's at LEAST 4,745 days

of this?!

And maybe, dear God, if I just eat more soy or less soy or no meat or take

many many many expensive suppliment or visualize or pray or get a girlfriend

and feel happier----maybe it'll just shrink?

Thanks for your attention, all. Your thoughts are most welcome!

Hi ,

I had a penunculated fibroid and could not have a UAE either. If my docs would

have been on the stick, a resection would have been possible. It took my docs

(went to several) 3+ years to figure it out. Then they gave me hyst as my only

option. No way to this. So I found a RE and had a myo last Aug.. The only thing

I regret about the myo is not having it sooner. No more heavy bleeding and

terrible symptoms. It's a new life.

Take your time to decide. Keep check on the anemia. But don't take so much time

that you are robbed of a life. Don't go through the heavy bleeding, it's a

horror. Fibroids just get worse, not better.

Hope this helps,

Ku

, don't give up, I would definately get a 2nd opinion on this

one. My IR said 17cm is his limit on the size of the fibroid. Jen

Hi ,

I also have a large pendiculated fibroid (along with a bunch of

others). My symptoms are similar to yours, along with back pain,

constipation and bladder pressure.(but not outrageous bleeding) I'm

49, much closer than you are to menopause, but I'm having a myo in a

week. I decided I can't play this " watch and wait " game any longer.

Life's too short to unnecessarily sacrifice my quality of life day

after day, when there's something I can do about it. I want my

comfortable, normal, active life back!

So there you have my 2cents! Good luck.
