Guest guest
No one in my family has been diagnosed with otosclerosis. When you ask how is my hearing I assume you mean how do I perform with the ci which I do very well with. My deafness has been attributed to MELAS. Guest guest
I don't know, but I asked my doctors that just recently. They weren't sure either. I was diagnosed with otosclerosis in '86, a year before I was diagnosed with CD. Guest guest
Otosclerosis is normally hereditary. Do either of you have other family members with this diagnosis? Did your doctors explain the type of otosclerosis you have? How is your hearing? Alice Re: Otosclerosis I don't know, but I asked my doctors that just recently. They weren't sure either. Guest guest
My grandfather (mother's father) had it as well. I have constant tinitis, and loss of hearing in some of the higher frequencies. It has not progressed to a hearing loss that is interfering with normal function, although I miss bits and pieces of conversation and rely more and more on lip reading.
