Guest guest
Thank you everyone for your prayers for Elaine. It is kind of looking like she is going to be put on the list for a heart transplant. Unless there is some improvement this weekend it will definately happen. They can not figure our why her heart function has dropped so dramatically. It is 14 out of a possible 60. They are treating her for a virus, but it doesn't seem to be helping yet. I mentioned mito diseases, but they don't seem too interested in exploring that. But I don't have a diagnosis yet anyway. I guess it doesn't matter anyway as the treatment would be the same. She is not able to keep any food down either. There isn't enought blood getting to her stomach and intestines. She is feeling miserable On the brighter side, I have been doing pretty good. I did some research a few weeks ago and discovered that MCT's (medium chain tri- glycerides) are used to treat some of the mito diseases and also thyroid resistence diseases which I have. I thought it was worth a try. I didn't think the doctors would go for it so I found out that MCT's are found in coconut oil. So I bought some and it has really helped. Even with all the stress going on I haven't crashed! All I have had is some mild weakness in my legs and some fatigue. I have been doing better since starting in than I have done in months. You are all in my thoughts even though things are so crazy here. Joanne

Guest guest
I hope Elaine is doing OK. I have her in my thoughts. Please keep an eye on your trigliseryde (sp) levels if you are going to take MTC oil. It put Laurie's through the roof when she took it breifly. bionicgirl_bionic wrote: >Thank you everyone for your prayers for Elaine. Guest guest
, Did you mean triglyceride ? ( by the way I had to look up the spelling.) The reason I'm asking is we just increased mct to 2 teaspoons 3x daily. As far as I can remember we have never checked triglyceride levels. , Mom to Re: prayers for Elaine I hope Elaine is doing OK. Guest guest
My reaction was unusual and it had to be added to the literature as a possible side effect. My son didn't have the same problem. It wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on it. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Mon, 22 Mar 2004 07:31:29 -0800 > To: > Subject: Re: prayers for Elaine > > I hope Elaine is doing OK. Guest guest
Yes, that is what I meant. I don't know if it happens to everyone, I just know it happened to Laurie.
