Guest guest
Has anyone used homeopathy? My brother's best friend is a Homeopathic doctor and I talked to him on the phone last night. He does prescribe Armour but doesn't believe in a surpressed TSH. My brother thinks I should see this doctor anyway, because nobody else is helping me. I guess the first visit is 2 hours because they do quite a history. I'm tempted to give it a try. ....joan
Guest guest
I just printed a bunch of papers from one of the web sites that was recently sent in. I'm going to highlight parts that have to do with the lab values - free's - and why even a TSH of below normal isn't a reason to panic. I doubt my dr. will care, but I'm taking them in. I'm not sure who you're responding to here - I remember reading that e-mail - but at the very least, she should print that article or selections of it to take along. I know I started on Shomon's site, then went to another one... this one: http://thyroid.about.com/cs/testsforthyroid/a/freet3.htm and this one: http://tinyurl.com/5m4wz Cris Re: Homeopathy >He does prescribe Armour but doesn't believe in a surpressed TSH. Then he's NOT the right person to see, Joan. An optimal dose of Armour, the dose that removes all symptoms and gives you your life back, results in a suppressed TSH. He's too lab-obsessed. Guest guest
Homeopathy is very good. When I have brused myself or have a muscle strain I take Arnica. For chronic strains I've used Ruta Gravenous with much success. I've also use homeopathy with my two dogs with great success as well. I believe very much believe in it. If the practitioner really knows what he is doing he can really help you. Make sure that you do not eat anything too close to the remedies. There is a doctor I was curious about that I like very much now, her name is Dr. Theresa Dale. She has a very specialized saliva test that tests your cortisol levels throughout the day. Many people have had success with her treatments. peace & joy, *Brigitte On Thursday, December 30, 2004, at 12:53 PM, NaturalThyroidHormones wrote: > _______________________________________________________________________ > _ > > Message: 20 > Date: Thu, 30 Dec 2004 14:48:53 -0600 > > Subject: Homeopathy > > Has anyone used homeopathy? I am a firm advocate of homoeopathy but there are things that homoeopathy can't do - and i think trying to treat a thryoid that is dead or nearly so is one of them. It can probably help with some of the symptoms of hypo and i think it is of use in the earlky stages when things have not progressed to far. I did buy some homoeopathic medicine when i was on levothyrox to see if that would help as well but it had no effect as far as i could see, but then i have been hypo and untreated for about 20 years. When i gave my sister the medicine after she was told she was 'borderline hypo ' she noticed a huge difference - increased temperature , softer skin, better mood etc but i think she was only in the early stages Alison

I like homeopathy, too! I think it's the reason I kicked my extreme bout with Epstein Barr Virus in 1991. But I never used it for my hypo since I found Armour. I use a homeopathic tablet to help with cramps in my legs at night--works beautifully. Am increasing my magnesium, as well. I'd like to hear from others about what has WORKED for them with homeopathy! Janie
Guest guest
I also take homeopathic Leg Cramps plus Quinine for my leg cramps from too much lifting during the day at work. I seldom get them any more but I used to have cramps often. I always have these on hand! Artistic Grooming Hurricane, West Virginia -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
Dear Inga, Kerry, Joan and All, First, I want to say that I am appalled that Joan had to pay $700. to be treated using homeopathy. That is absolutely ludicrous. It is no wonder you aren't supportive. I am curious Joan where are you located? In Los Angeles there is a school called American University of Complementary Medicine. The beauty of this school and the acupuncture schools in LA, is that you can be treated by the advanced students AND their instructors. It is pretty phenomenal and VERY inexpensive. This way you can try out an alternative form of treatment without shelling out a bunch of money. I like asking different people who they recommend for specific treatments and you can do this at the schools too. American University is an excellent school and I believe the cost to be evaluated and treated homeopathically is $50. including the remedies. Not only are you evaluated by an advanced student but you are video taped and several instructors review the tape to be sure the student is making the appropriate recommendations. For those of you in the LA area here is the information. American University of Complementary Medicine 11543 Olympic Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90064 Phone: http://schools.naturalhealers.com/american/ http://schools.naturalhealers.com The above address will link you to similar schools, just look at the bottom " find a school " and maybe they have a similar program. I really believe in " wholistic " medicine and practitioners that look at their patients as a whole person, treating the whole person. When I work with my clients' dogs or cats and they are having an issue with their skin or weight for example I do an intake and have the owners answer several different questions to give me an overall perspective of the dog or cats life, diet, living situation, stresses, exercise, the cleaning products used around the pet, and the shampoos and medicines used as well. This is very important because it could be something very simple causing a major reaction or symptom. For example one of my clients called me telling me that her jack russell began itching a lot and developed a skin rash. She went to the vet and the vet immediately wanted to give the dog cortisone (and this vet is considered the holistic vet at this veterinary hospital). But the doctor didn't consider 'WHY' the dog might be scratching. I told my client to hold off on the cortisone and consider the fact that the dog had just been to the groomer a couple days before the itching and rash began and not only had been shaved but they had used an unknown product on the dog. I also reminded her that her dogs diet had been cleaned up and she could also be having a cleansing reaction and to give it a little time. It turned out to be the groomer and the shampoo and shaving. She rinsed her dog off and the itching ceased; no medication required. I bring all this up because of the comment I made that not all homeopathic doctors are the same. Definitely ask a bunch of questions, find out what the total cost will be and call around to speak with other practitioners. But don't go by price alone. Good luck. peace, joy and good health *Brigitte On Friday, December 31, 2004, at 05:00 AM, NaturalThyroidHormones wrote: > > _______________________________________________________________________ > _ > _______________________________________________________________________ > _ > > Message: 21 > Date: Fri, 31 Dec 2004 00:00:48 -0800 > > Subject: Re: *Homeopathy > > I would use homeopathy in general, if I could afford it. > I have had some good result form the little bit of homeopathy I have > tried. > Like anything though, I think that not all homeopaths are created > equal...so... > ~inga > _______________________________________________________________________ > _ > _______________________________________________________________________ > _ > > Message: 12 > Date: Fri, 31 Dec 2004 00:30:13 -0600 > > Subject: Re: Homeopathy > > Thanks, Kerry. Guest guest
This would be very good to know! and what do you use for your leg cramps? Does anyone know anywhere to get a 'list' of what homeopathic or natural vitamins do for what? How do we know what to take? Guest guest
This is exactly what I believe about ANY other treatment, other thyroid hormone replacement therapy, when the gland has all kinds of unrecoverable damage, Plus, feeding a Hashi's gland iodine in the iodine craze treatment is downright dangerous, IMO. I've seen so many references to iodine treatment for thyroid, and so many people take this not knowing whether they are autoimmune or not. Detrimental. Guest guest
I switched to a naturopathic doctor and have been seeing him for about a year now. I have circulation issues, and he has me taking a supplement called V:V7. It has Butcher's Broom, Bilberry, Ginkgo Biloba, bioflavinoids (lemon) Hesperidin, pranthocyanidins (grape seed and skin) and Rutin in it. It really has helped. My legs used to get severely tired and would hurt. I first started with Ginkgo Biloba, but it did not work as well. Of course I make sure to get plenty of exercize. I'm not sure if this would help leg cramps. I think that is something different.
