I am all for getting this out into the open and

letting parents know. I feel so bad that I was not

informed until Noah was 10 months. And that was only

because I did the research. Not one of his doctors

took me seriously. I find myself constantly saying

" if only I had known " .

Hi all -

I thought that everyone should know that the APP does have a revised

SIDS policy paper that clearly states the Back to Sleep campaign puts

the children at risk of developing positional plagio. It gives

recommendations about roatating sleep positions, restricted use of

swings, etc.

Now I just want to know why our ped's don't tell us about this?

Here is the link to the paper. Looks like it was published this time

last year (2005).

Not that this should prevent you from signing the petition. But it is

nice to know that the AAP recognizes the problem at least.

I second the " thanks " . the pediatricians are our main resource for

this kind of information and most of us on this board feel we weren't

well served in this area. luckily we got a referral to a specialist at

4 mo, but repo tips at sydney's 2 mo appt (when we asked about her

flat spot) could have made a huge difference.
