Expect resistance...they've been brainwashed by the synthroid drug reps...but if you hang around the thyroid forums long...you'll see that synthroid has caused lots of misery for folks. I would definitely try Armour before doing anything else. cindi

For what it's worth, here's a true story: My sister-in-law did fertility drugs to have her 3 kids. After the third, the docs told her she could never have any more kids, and did not need to use birth control. A few years later, after she finally found a doc to treat her thyroid correctly, imagine her surprise to be pregnant (with twins!). She has since learned that thyroid meds used to be commonly prescribed for women with fertility problems, before " modern " medicine became so prideful, greedy, and obtuse. She now believes that thyroid treatment was all she ever needed. Good luck. We're all pulling for you! -- prr
Guest guest
Please post your lab values, with the lab ranges. You need the Free T3, Free T4 values. Always get copies of your labs. Natural thyroid is better, and I can't believe that the doctor thought you shouldn't be on the med, is that correct? If it's multinodular, it may have to come out, but every effort should be made to shrink them first, that is, if there's only one or two. Armour can do that. Re: Hashimoto's Disease and trying to get pregnant > > Thanks Cindi, I did the blood work and they had put me on synthriod to try to surpress and shrink the nods but it didn't work and they just keep growing. My endo doc seem to think drug therapy will not work and this is the second endo doc that said I should have it removed. I don't know if I should demand to try drug therapy first , find a new doc or just get it removed so I came get back to normal. I don't know anyone that has had it removed so i don't know what to expect. My dad told me about armour so I will bring that up with the doc's. Thanks again, Donna
