Guest guest
Hi all, My names Carol, I finally found the nerve to actually go to see a doctor. For the last 9 years I have been putting up with very strange bleeding & sudden pains. Since this has all started I have also moved to a new country, France. I have told the doctor here my symptoms & he says it will be fibroids & he has given me the phone numbers to book in for a scan & blood tests, also for an x-ray, but that's for something else. My period bleeding usually consists of: Day 1: bit light bleed Day 2: CANNOT go anywhere have to be near the toilet, Tampax super plus & Tenna lady pads, no use! I HAVE t be near toilet. Just flood like crazy, HUGE clots too. Day 3: same as I guess a normal period would be, I think. After, well it varies, sometime totally clear, but usually for next week or so but not always spotting or the or clot or another flood or watery blood, well all sorts happen. I'm sorry to bother you all, but I just wondered if any of you had any advice for me? Cheers, Carol Ps Thankyou for listening :-)
Guest guest
Hi, Been in your boat. First... ANEMIA!!! Check it out ASAP! I'd be surprised if you didn't have it bleeding like this. It's what sent me to the ER. It's dangerous. You need to take Slow FE iron and vitamin C for absorbtion. Eat iron rich foods too but this won't be enough for severe anemia. You'll need the FE iron. I can't strees enough to do this. You can have a UAE, resection, myo or hyst. For UAE it depends on location of fibroid. A resection can only be done if the fibroid isn't too deep in the wall. You can have a myo (my choice) and just remove the fibroids. There are different kinds of hysts. I found this choice to be one of last resort. Too much chance of trading one set of problems for another. If I would choose this, then I'd leave the ovaries in. But you may need to get a saline sono and/or a MRI for a clearer picture of your problem. The bleeding will only get worse. It doesn't get better. To bleed like this ruins your life and sucks the energy out of you. It's just terrible. I couldn't do a UAE (wrong location). If they had found my fibroid sooner, I could have had a resection (so much for watching and waiting). Hyst was too drastic for me so I had a myo. I used a RE. You may want to see one. Everyone must make their own decision. Many docs recommend hysts because they can't perform myos. You need to be aware of your doc's skill level and that limiting your choices. Also GYNs don't do UAEs so they won't neccessary tell you about them either. You'll have no choice in the end but to do something due to the bleeding getting worse. You'll end up bleeding everyday. Hope this helps. Check about the anemia. A multivitamin and calcium supplement won't hurt you. If you have specific questions, ask. The people here will answer and support you. They are great. Guest guest
I have not had much success in reducing blood flow. Sheperds Purse is an herb that has some short-term effect. However, I used to flood and that has stopped. I still can't go longer than hour without changing two super plus tampons and overnight pad, but at least the flooding along with the passing of monster sized clots has stopped. I was diagnosed with Hypothyrodism so I am not sure if it that medication effected the flooding or the vitamins and minerals I began taking. I take Iron, B complex, e-lyte minerals, flax seed, vitamin e, dglucarate, natural progesterone, and a multi-vitamin. Again, I am not sure if there is a correlation. I was told the heavy bleeding is due to my very large submucosal fibroid. My understanding the type and size have an impact. So, find out where yours is located. > Day 2: CANNOT go anywhere have to be near the toilet, Tampax super plus & Tenna lady pads, no use! I HAVE t be near toilet.
