There are so many different types of fibroids and according to my gynecologist and all the other studies I have read 80% of all women have fibroids. Unfortunately for some of us suffer more than others. On my first visit to my gynecologist after finding out that I had these fibroids, I was recommended to have a hysterectomy. I am 49 years old and even though I am not planning on having any more children I didn't see the need to have a hysterectomy, especially after joining this group and researching I have found so many other alternatives. I think more women need to find out that having a hysterectomy is not your only choice and they need to be informed and not scared into having the procedure done. Educate the women Oprah they need more info!
