Guest guest
If this doc does his testing through a regular lab, the chances are it would be covered by your insurance. Maybe check that out? Val I clicked on a link - then a link, and I found a doctor in my area. He has moved even closer to me than what he is listed. He bucks the system, he treats holistically, He uses armour, he treats by symptoms- he orders all of the right tests - he sounds absolutely perfect! BUT ! .... he takes NO insurance. So - the initial apt. is $180.00 out of pocket. Plus all of the tests that he runs are out of pocket, (and have to be paid for upfront) and then all the follow up apts. are out of pocket. So - that first apt. will cost probably at least $500.00 upfront. I don't think I can afford to go to him!! but I'm wondering if my health is worth going into debt over. Logically, I think that it is - realistically, I don't know if I can justify it. His first available apt. is in march or April. I'm gonna discuss this with my hubby when he comes home tonight. I know what he'll say though... why can't regular doctors treat us fairly? It truly is disgusting. Cris
Guest guest
I asked about that. Normal type bloodwork can be done that way. but I think it's the adrenal stuff, and tests that aren't done at normal labs. anything other than bloodwork, I have to pay for. The office lady couldn't really tell me much more than that. Cris doctors recommend page If this doc does his testing through a regular lab, the chances are it would be covered by your insurance. Guest guest
I mentioned to my hubby last night about that doctor I found. He is none too thrilled, to say the least. He knows I've switched doctors a couple of times now. I really like my new doctors that I have now. He doesn't understand at all. I moved him to my last doctor - and that was the worst of any of them! He was upset after I moved him there and they were bad. So now I wanted to move him to my new one, cause they are 1000%better than the one he is still seeing. Only thing with them is the one doesn't believe in running freeT3 (the other does though) but neither are willing to treat me by symptoms. With my TSH sooooo low, and below the normal level already - my free's need to come up - I still have all of my symptoms. I'm only on 1 1/2 grains. Anyway - it's not fun when hubby doesn't even understand. BUT - he did say, well then, just take more armour! He hadn't considered the fact though, that to do that, you need a prescription for more armour, and for that, you need a doctor who is willing to write it!! and - before that conversation, I had a conversation with my girlfriend, who is a nurse! why did I ever even bring it up??? She said, you read too much on the internet. You can't believe any of that stuff. She said my symptoms are just old age. If I wasn't talking with her on AIM, I'd have bopp'd her a good one. no way was I going to convince her otherwise. JUst like these doctors. It's a wasted breath. *sigh!! Cris Re: doctors recommend page ran across this web site...and some good doctors are listed...thought this might be helpful to some folks. Molly - I think i saw two docs listed in VA. http://vitamvas.tripod.com/doctorlist.html cindi

She said my symptoms are just old age i've noticed that folks who have no interest in learning/education usually say this about the internet. i think it's their way of excusing their own lack of motivation for learning. I think it usually indicates laziness too. I'd probably tell her that too. Cindi

Guest guest
well - we had a discussion - she needs a bike helmet. I commented how hard it was for me to find one that fit my head - she said, small head, small brain. Sometimes she says the rudist things to me - I wonder how we're friends! so - I said - big head - big ego - then said I had to go. she said, oh, you're mad at me now>.. duh. I'm not sure why the attitude of the internet. I'm sure you're right tho - because had I mentioned I learned it from the books I had, they wouldn't be as good as medicial books that she and doctor's learned from. I've had discussions in the past - my major in college was nutrition - ticked me when I was young, because nurses got jobs that I applied for, with no nutritional training.
