Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm new to the board and would like your opinion. I am 39 years old with no children and I have HUGE, MASSIVE fibroids the size of Florida. Looks like I am going to have to have a hysterectomy. Scared does not even begin to describe how I feel about this whole thing. Any calming thoughts you can offer?
Guest guest
Have you checked any other alternatives? Don't let them pursuade you. Thats always the 1st thing they tell you. Myoectomy or UFE could be other alternatives? How big is your fibroid? Jen > I'm new to the board and would like your opinion. Guest guest
Read through this post and the links for all the different options you have. When you say huge what size? I am having a myo from a doctor who has stated he has removed extremely large fibroids. I am 36 and was told to have a hysterectomy. Through a lot of research and trying the natural path without success I have decided to have a myo. I have three large fibroids over 10cm and many many small ones. There are options and there are physicians who recommend treatment other than a hysterectomy!! - In uterinefibroids , " reneeh35_07050 " <reneeh35@h...> wrote: >I am 39 years old with no children and I have HUGE, MASSIVE fibroids the size >of Florida. Guest guest
Please get another opinion. Try to go to a Reproductinve Endocronologist, they are very skilled at doing all types of gynocological surgeries. Their goal is more preservation of fertility. > I am 39 years old with no children and I have HUGE, MASSIVE fibroids the size of Florida. Looks like I am going to have to have a hysterectomy. Guest guest
I agree. You need to find a doctor who will seek out other treatments aside from hysterectomy. My doctor knew I wanted children and recommended an abdominal myomectomy. I had 15 fibroids she removed, 8 of which were very large. So, there are doctors out there who do not just jump to hysterectomy as the only option. Good luck. --- mickinatlanta wrote: > Please get another opinion.
