Hello, My name is e and I am 33 years old, I'm new to this group. I have

been trying to get pregnant for the past 2 years. Recently, I had an ultrasound

and I found out that the myoma on top of my uterus grew about 1 cm in the past

year. It now measures 6.6x5.5x4.5 cm. My doctor is suggesting that I have it

surgically removed. Can somebody help me and give me any suggestions?

Welcome to the group!

My fibroid was discovered 2 years before I got pregnant with my first

child, and I had a successful, uneventful pregnancy despite the fibroid,

which doubled in size during the pregnancy and reached 13 cm at its

largest. I decided to have a myomectomy after my daughter's birth because

we want to have a second child, and the fibroid could cause problems if it

grew more during a second pregnancy. The myomectomy, which was performed

last September, went well, and my husband and I are now trying to conceive

our second child. If you'd like to read more about my fibroid and

myomectomy experiences, see:

The most popular fibroid treatments fare " watch and wait, " myomectomy,

uterine artery embolization (UAE), and hysterectomy. Women who want to have

their fibroid removed but still preserve their fertility usually opt for a

myomectomy, as there isn't enough data available about UAE to know how it

affects fertility. All of the treatment options have benefits and

drawbacks, and the treatment that's best for a particular woman depends on

personal factors as well as her age and the location of her fibroid. Your

might find the Mayo Clinic Web site helpful for researching info about

fibroids and deciding on a treatment option:
