And it's not always the case for hypo people to automatically gain weight

either. When I was diagnosed HYPO, I was 130 lbs at 5'6 " tall. Here I am

11 yrs later, and last yr, when I was so chronically hypo, I still weighed

in at only 165 lbs. I think I now weigh about 158, and having been on

Armour for the last yr, one increment at a time. I am now 53 yrs old, so

there is a great combo of things from person to person having to do with

that. As a matter of fact, a nurse where I was working looked at me with

unbelieving eyes, saying that she would have guessed that I was likely

HYPERthyroid, instead of HYPO. I never saw my first test results. Who

knows, maybe I actually had Grave's also, in addition to the Hashi's. I

know that the T4 was done three wks from the initial tests because, when the

nurse called me, she mentioned that the T4 was slightly high but " that was

ok " quote. If I ever did a test for " the other antibodies " for Grave's, I

would almost be willing to bet that I had had both of them. They say that's

unusual, but, with me, I was always having unlikely things anyway, so, lol!!

At that time, I could eat anything I wanted to, any time of day or night,

and back up to just a few months before that, even to around 6 yrs onward

before that, I weighed anywhere from 113 lbs to 120 lbs, and I was already

in my mid thirties to late 30s during that time period.

> not all hyper people lose weight. that is purely false. Usually the

people who lose the weight are young people who come down with Graves

Disease. It's not always the case for us 'older' folks. The disease tends

to make us gain, hyper or not. I was one of many.
