Guest guest
Hi Pearl- It's good you have called the doctor as well as posting. I had my myo on Oct. 2 and bled quite a bit after the surgery. Six days after, I called my doctor because I was bleeding very heavily with clots. They examined me and said some patients do experience this post surgery. It may also be your period. They offered me a hormone prescription (can't remember the name, started with a " A " ) to slow down the bleeding, but also warned that after I stopped taking it, I would have more, so I toughed it out. It is very frustrating, I know, because you want these symptoms, the very ones that caused you to have surgery in the first place, to be gone after your myo. If your doctor seems to think everything is okay, you will just have to hang in there. It will get better. skincarebypearl@... wrote: Hi all, Looking for advice. I have a call in to my doc so waiting to hear from him. I have soaked 5 pads in the last 24 hours. The first couple days I was home I was only lightly spotting so Im worried. I thought the bleeding might be my period as it was due but when I called the doc yesterday about that he seemed to think it was just bleeding from the myo and normal. Also I quit taking my vicuprofin as the pain hasn't been that bad and quitting the pills seems to have coincided with the heavier bleeding. Is this normal? or should I worry? I know they put a protective self-dissolving barrier around my uterus after the operation to prevent adhesions so hopefully blood isnt getting onto my other organs. Thanks, Pearl
Guest guest
You could also ask someone else as well for peace of mind, for example, the gynaecologist if you spoke to the GP. I was told that I might get a period-like bleed after my operation in that hospital week, but in fact I didn't. Were you periods heavy before? Guest guest
Hi, Well, I am happy to report that my bleeding seems to have stopped. I haven't bled in 5 hours. I was able to cancel the appt with the doc. I really think it was a period since I was due for one but what had concerned me the most was the doc said that it wasn't a period on the phone the other day. My periods were heavier before this with more clots so I do think it could have been a period. It makes sense that my uterine lining would have been built up and now coming out. Thanks all! It is so great to be able to share our experiences and get info this way. Pearl
