I cannot get my cholesterol down any way but with 10 mg Lipitor and Actos

(for elevated glucose). There is new research that has shown that combining

psyllium with Zocor produces the same result as twice the dose of Zocor.

Thyroid hormone has not helped me at all. I was nearly disabled with

shoulder pain while on Pravachol but was not taking CoQ10. My daughter was

able to normalize her cholesterol with 4000 mg fish oil + 40 mg

policosonal/day.

Yes your right taking CoQ10 is important while taking a statin. That is

something I never took. I just quit the stuff cold turkey. Just try to watch

my diet and eat some pecans everyday. Pecans are suppose to help with

lowering cholesterol. Have you ever heard of that? Not sure if it is true.

Another doctor I went to told me to take metamucil every day or increase

fresh fruit and vegetables, high fiber cereals instead of putting me on a

statin.

Walnuts are supposed to strengthen the heart too & prevent attacks or failure. I

know a doctor who has been disabled/not working with heart disease for years. He

eats walnuts & is doing just fine.

I also read that just about all nuts prevent heart attacks & strengthen the

heart. I guess that's why coconuts are good, their milk & oil too. I eat lots of

almonds. Love those. They have a digestive fire in them that helps with the

digestion as well.

critically important to take at least 100 mg CoQ10 with any statin?

Niacin is also one of the best cholesterol lowerin nutrients there is.

Doctors used it alone before the onset of the pharma statins, which I think

are very dangerous for thyroidians.

I'm responding to the muscle pain question: It only took about three

weeks from start to finish with Lipitor to develop the pain , attribute

it to the drug, and go off. By the fourth week the pain had begun to

lessen and then disappear. I believe there is a website that deals with

the bad results of statins, and you can probably find it by Googling Bad

Results Statins.
