My biggest fear (besides bleeding or ending up with a hysterctomy, believe it or not, is post-op gas pain! I had it after my C-sections and it was the worst pain I experienced- worse than the surgery itself! Any advise on avoiding it? Guest guest Posted January 15, 2004 Report Share Posted January 15, 2004 My advice is to use as little pain medication as possible (while in the hospital and at home) and to walk as early and as often as possible after your surgery. It really does make a difference. I did still have some gas pain after my myo, but it wasn't as bad as the gas pain after I had an ovarian cyst removed about 20 years ago. After the ovarian cyst surgery, I relied on pain medication too much and didn't walk as much as I could have.
