Hi- I'm scheduled for Feb. 2 and would also very much appreciate

advise. My biggest fear (besides bleeding or ending up with a

hysterctomy, believe it or not, is post-op gas pain! I had it after

my C-sections and it was the worst pain I experienced- worse than the

surgery itself! Any advise on avoiding it?

Thanks- Mindy

The best advise I can offer on this is WALK.....walk walk

walk.....get moving as soon as you are able....take that morphine

pump right down the hall with you! :)

Best wishes to you both!

My advice is to use as little pain medication as possible (while in the

hospital and at home) and to walk as early and as often as possible after

your surgery. It really does make a difference. I did still have some gas

pain after my myo, but it wasn't as bad as the gas pain after I had an

ovarian cyst removed about 20 years ago. After the ovarian cyst surgery, I

relied on pain medication too much and didn't walk as much as I could have.
