Guest guest
Not sure where you are but have you tried to find someone who raises cattle on the field, not grain fed? We are going start purchasing our beef that way. We are in Texas so it is a bit easier to find it. Chick can be had at a local health food " supermarket " , we have Whole Foods. There are several places off the Internet that you can purchase from. I feel for you, I don't know what I would do in your shoes! The only dairy I eat right now is cheese. Can you eat it with those lactose pills? Kate At 11:47 AM 12/26/2004, you wrote: >Yes indeed, my stomach is now rebelling against sugar in all forms...carbs >too. Guest guest
Have you looked into getting a vegetarian cookbook? That might give you some ideas. Some veggies are good sources of protein. Louise > Yes indeed, my stomach is now rebelling against sugar in all forms...carbs too. Guest guest
In the research I did the protein in veggies is about 10-15% vs meat you get 30-40%. I found that when I was doing some research on anemia. Plus there are a few veggies that aren't good for " us " . But yes, if you eat veggies do the research on the ones high in protein. Guest guest
Half a cow?? I wouldn't have any place to keep it. I think I'll pass on that idea then. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kate Guynn Let us know how it works. Here is a link to a place in North Texas http://www.texasgrassfedbeef.com/index.htm I haven't tried them. We have found a place about 45 south of here and place to buy half of a cow in Feb or March. Guest guest
The trouble is that dary allergy is different from lactose intolerance. The pills are for those who are lactose intolerant, but not for those who are literally allergic to milk. Those allergic to dairy MUST completely avoid it. I am so excited about the link you listed in Tx, as I live on the Tx Gulf Coast and have not wanted to order it from across the entire country of the U.S.! I plan on ordering, but I just couldn't find that many well-defined places in Tx to order it. I know of noone around this area who sells grass fed beef or poultry. It costs more than in the supermarket, but has pretty good prices, I think. Guest guest
Hi , You don't live to far from me if I recall correctly, I'm in Missouri City. On the homeschool list someone said there is a guy in East Bernard that sells grass fed beef. Someone also listed this as a good resource http://www.eatwild.com/products/texas.html I just looked at it and the guy in East Bernard is there and someone in Houston. There are several options. Looks like you can look up stuff in other states too. So this is a great resource for everyone on this list. Hope this helps. Thanks for the info on the lactose intolerance vs dairy allergy. I wasn't fully thinking about the difference. I guess people need to make sure they are truly allergic vs just intolerant.
