Guest guest
This whole conversation is very interesting to me. I have been mentally suffering because I have gone from a low weight of 143 (I was there for about 5 second following my tummy tuck) back up to 161. I am only 5'1 " , so it was getting scary. Now - I don't do sugar or milk. I was doing very few carbs. So I went for a barium swallow yesterday. Everything is fine - 2 1/2 years out I still have a 30cc pouch and no disruption. The surgeon I consulted with has suggested that I only drink a protein shake after I do a muscle bearing work out. That takes me down from two shakes a day to one shake every other day (the company who makes problendd 55 may go out of business). He also asked that I get my pre-albumin and albumin done in two weeks. When I return with bloods and GI films he will have me meet with his nutritionist who will go over the food journal he has asked me to keep as well. Other than being in mourning over my ProBlend - I am down 2 lbs since Monday. I have added some carbs to my routine in the form of veggies, low carb fruit and 1/2 a luna bar each day. I feel fine (other than the post barium runs and headache). The surgeon truly feels that the gain is a combination of me beginning weight training 3 mos ago and a little bounceback. I would just like to get back in to my size 10 pants as I have given all the others away! Guest guest
I am currently doing 70 - 90 ounces of decaf unsweetened liquid a day. At least 60 of that is water. I am ready to float now! I have actually lost 2 lbs since Monday so I am going to give it a whirl. I can't continue to gain - I am back in the obese category as it is - I did not have a goal of being obese when I laid down on the surgical table. Two shakes a day was getting me there quickly. I was very interested to see Vicki's post on even too much protein turning to fat. Granted at a size 12 or 14 I do not appear obese (and I am still a small on top) but the charts say obese. Guest guest
Why would you think PB55 is going out of biz? I just placed a huge hunkin' order with 'em. An hour ago. And they are working on a Mocha Cap Classic recipe to bring back the one people loved. ???? Guest guest
Boy that must have popped your protein cork fast. Sometimes I think you take us all too seriously VITA! Tone inflection is sorely missing in ALL these posts and sometimes leads to many misunderstandings I interpreted this poswt as Margie making a joke about PB55 sales going down without her... or so I took it.. one faithful Mocha cap lover making a joke? NO??? But then again I dont sell the stuff, I just drink it once in awhile, I just throw coffe into chocolate to make Mochsa but have been finding it more scarce in local stores recently. It is a nice traveling companioon. WHY did they ever STOP making it, didnt know they did, why messs with a good thing? Marketing... pull it for 3 months...just to BRING IT BACK?? Im also lowering shakes lately, going onto more 0 Carb isopure in glass bottles while exercising (the pretty pretty colored stuff) and UPCAL and PROCEL tea and coffee during the day and in the AM and pm.. and more food, Challanging time. :)aDria > > > > >In a message dated 6/6/2002 3:19:15 AM Pacific Standard Time, > > >denise0714@c... writes: > > > > > > > > >> Back and forth 183 to 190. Guest guest
No, they didn't pull it from the market, but they've never quite figured out its market, so the run out. Then, when they changed the formula, they thought they were way cool. Well, the bariatric community went ballistic, and my rep is all aflutter, and now is trying to make the original formula again. He implies that they've got 100% match again. Funny thing is, everyone who tastes BOTH likes the original. Everyone who tastes the new (only) likes it fine. Weird, huh? It's nice to know that they aim to please, though, huh? But of course, it's not chocolate, so what good is it? Guest guest
ProCel will not dissipate in heat. The others can be added to warmish water, but not hot. Depends on how hot and nope, I don't know the degrees. I just know that they separate at " that " heat, whichever it is. ProCel is also pretty well tasteless & textureless, so you can put it in anything. Even the " natural " and " plain " have texture. Personally, my wt loss & my health depend on the integrity of the protein I drink. I just can't bring myself to do the warmed whey products. Old school, I guess.
