Guest guest
OK. Since we are playing the name game I will gather up my courage and let the group see my ignorance but just exactly how do you pronounce Zsolt? > > >
Guest guest
I've never been told how to pronounce his name, but in my head, it sounds like Z O(long O sound) L T, like bolt, dolt, colt, molt, etc. If he's " listening " , he's bound to get a good chuckle out of us trying to figure out his name. I'm sending him a nice long letter tomorrow, plus an interesting CD. I know he really has an appreciation for music, and is very talented himself in several instruments. Hugs to all, Laurel
Guest guest
Well, Laurel, me too. At least that's what I always thought but then I got to thinking (that always brings on a problem for me) maybe the Z is silent. It is in some words--don't ask. I can't think of any right now but you know what I mean. How about the T in General Tso's Chicken? Guest guest
Laerel, I think you are right. In English it would be prononced " Zolt " , Similar to " bolt " or " colt " with " z " pronounced as in " zoo " . However, I believe it is a Hungarian name and, in many Europian languages, " z " is pronounced as " ts " as in " cats " or " bats " . Therefore, it could be prononced as " tsolt " . I guess Zsolt would have to tell us which pronounciation he prefers. Guest guest
Laurel, I'm sorry I misspelled your name. I heard the cow bell announcing that it was time for supper so I didn't time to proof read my e-mail before sending it. I also misspelled European and pronounced. Oy is me.
