Guest guest
Hi y'all. I have some questions for you knowledgeable ladies in the femalehormones department. I am 33 (2 kids) and still have fatigue and looooooooooooow sex drive. Always have. My very nice doc did a hormonal panel including thyroid labs and suggested that I need hormonal cream supplementation (I am guessing in the testosterone dept since he guestimated it was low before getting the actual results). Here are the results during my mid cycle (almost to the 14th day): TSH - .043 range .3-5.5 T4 - 6.5 range 4.5-12 Free - T4 2.3 range 1.2-4.9 t3 uptake 36% range 24-39 (never did figure out why they take this one) Testosterone 20 range 14-76ng/dl estradiol 154 range 19-528 (See below) follicular 19-83 ........... 64-183 midcycle (basically me when drawn) 150-528 luteal (+2) 58-157 (I guess the + means days after midcycle?) (+6) 60-210 (+12) 55-150 Progesterone .8ng/ml folicullar .2 - 1.4 luteal 3.3- 25.6 mid-luteal 4.4- 28 So, it seems that my testosterone is low, my progesterone is non-existant, and my estrogen is normal, except with the progesterone being so low, I am guestimating that I would be classified as having estrogen dominance? Can anyone help me out here? Please? I don't really want to take testosterone because my hair is thin right now, I am having a lovely bout of acne again, and my cholesterol levels are not sky high, but borderline right now. HELP!!!! Need some good female advice out there . Thanks!!
Guest guest
Hi. I couldn't help but note that you got the useless Thyroid Panel, which doesn't include a free T3. Next time, make it clear that what you need tested is the free T4 and free T3, not the thyroid panel. ) Yes, if your labs were drawn mid cycle, that progesterone sure looks low to me! Yes, you might have a bit of estrogen dominance. Perhaps you could start using progesterone cream to improve that, which could help that sex drive. But, for a fact, testosterone WOULD make a difference in that drive! Testosterone did not make my hair thinner, and I only got one or two blemishes at first. But they went away. I started on 1 mgs. It was worth it!! Janie > > Hi y'all. I have some questions for you knowledgeable ladies in the > femalehormones department. I am 33 (2 kids) and still have fatigue and > looooooooooooow sex drive. Guest guest
Thanks Janie!!I will try the testosterone cream. I also re-read his recommendations, and he says use the " creams " , so I am guessing he had the compounding pharmacy made up the progesterone stuff too. I am not the least bit concerned about the free t3 with this doc. He treats by symptoms and only uses labs as a guide line. In fact, what he said about these labs and my state was that i am improving (not stop the meds you are hyper lol). So, I just increase when I feel the need, go back to him, and he retests for pre-cautionary sake only. LOVE HIM!! He treats people with Armour that show hypo signs and who have a TSH over 1.3 (can you believe it?). I told him about my concerns with sex drive and lingering fatigue, and he immediately sent me out to have a hormone panel done. I couldn't be happier with him. Okay, I better stop before I get told to shut-up. . > > Hi. I couldn't help but note that you got the useless Thyroid Panel, > which doesn't include a free T3.
