Guest guest
Hi all, If you had one large {partially} pedunculated fibroid [somewhere near 9x10x11], no indication of others and had a myomectomy, I'd like to hear about your experience. Specifically, I'd like to know how the surgery and recoup was for you. And if you have had any regrowths, if it's been a while since your surgery [esp. if you are not menopausal]. And anything else about your previous symptoms, how you decided, etc. My gyno is asserting that I have less risk of regrowth, since I just have one, thinks the surgery will be a relative breeze, since it's pedunculated. Would love to hear from others. Feel free to 'reply all', if you'd like. Wishing you all health and peace. ***** Look for the good and praise it! ***** R.--SF | = O = |
Guest guest
I had one of those 2 years ago. Once I finally got into the OR it was a breeze. Relatively little pain, one day recovery time. I was good for a year and then started bleeding heavily again... I was then given given Lupron by injection...once a month for three months. It took a month for the bleeding to lesson and then stop. It stopped the heavy bleeding. That was a year ago. I now have scant regular periods. I am 52 years old. best of luck. gg haw wrote: >Hi all, > > If you had one large {partially} pedunculated fibroid [somewhere near >9x10x11], no indication of others and had a myomectomy, I'd like to hear >about your experience. Guest guest
Hi , I just had one removed that had degenerated and prolapsed into my cervix..my advice would be get that out as soon as you can. Mine was so easy to remove vaginally and I felt better in a few days.

I understood that pedunculated fibroids are attached to the OUTSIDE of the uterus. Please explain. I have a huge pedunculated (among others!) If there was any way to remove it vaginally, I would be *thrilled*. Elana

Guest guest
Elana, Pedunculated fibroids can be internal or external. I had one internally near my cervix which was remove via hysteroscopic resection back about 5-6 years ago. It was a relatively easy procedure (except for the creepy anesthesiologist and incompetent that started my IV). It was done in outpatient surgery. Somewhere I have a photo of the alien beast. It improved my symptoms from fibroids and bleeding for several years until all the transmural fibroids took over and made my life miserable again.
