Guest guest
Alesha, I am so incredibly sorry hear your news. Stay right here and chat when you need to. Please let us know what you find out. If it does turn out to be cancer there is likely a group on-line that you can link up with who can provide you with the support you would need with a diagnosis like that. I'll be hoping and praying for the best possible outcome. e, mom to joe > So after the rheumy and the infectious disease docter on Friday we > got the results back on her urine culture and their was bacteria in > her urine culture, which I quess there isn't suppose to be. Guest guest
Carol, I don't have any insight for you but just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your decision. I sense that you are really trying to do the very best thing and my heart just goes out to you. Whatever you decide, just know that you're doing the best you can for a little person who can't do it yet for himself. In the interest of being an outside opinion, I noted that several professionals did say that it wasn't necessary to be banded again. Was that due to your son's age or something else? I would feel confident with their advice but remember, Mom usually knows best. Good Luck to you! Guest guest
Hi Carol, I was looking for info a few days ago and found this case study that might interest you. The orthos recommended 2 bands, and were please with results, but parents requested a 3rd. http://www.cranialtherapies.com/index.php/case_studies/case_study/brachycephaly/ However this case was pretty severe at the beginning and I don't know how he looked after the 2nd band. It just says he had 3 bands and that the parents were very happy they went forward with the 3rd. We're just starting with my daughter. Good luck. -christine mom to Sydney/brachy/5 mo/Starband 5-31-06 > > Well it's been a couple of weeks now that has graduated from his > second band. Guest guest
I'm so sorry that you have to wrestle with this decision. Honestly my opinion is that if you are not happy with his head shape as it is right now, go for it. When deciding on a 2nd band for my son I thought " I don't want to regret that I didn't do everything I could have " . As long as the band isn't going to hurt him and will only hurt your pocket book it may be worth a try. You are a good mom no matter what you decide. Guest guest
Thank You so much for this . It's exactly what I have been looking for. My husband decided to take the initiative and contacted CT this morning to process insurance. They called back immediately afterward and luckily our insurance is supposed to cover 100% again. So why not? We're going to give this a try. If it doesn't work oh well. If it does that's great! My dh said he was tired of seeing me like this. So was I! I'm just worried that a third band will cause over correction of his forehead. I think someone posted about this not too long ago. Does anyone know if this happens frequently? Anyway thanks again . Our 4th casting is set for next monday at 11. Carol > > > > Well it's been a couple of weeks now that has graduated from his > > second band. Guest guest
Carol, I'm in the same boat with Cranial Tech regarding another band. They say the exact thing to me about my daughter and getting a second band. They say that there has to be friction in the band and enough asymmetry for the band to work. She also told me that they have parents who try to do another band even though the technicians don't recommend it, and that their design team who make the band end up calling after seeing the cast and saying that they can't make another band for this baby. So I was thinking why not go ahead and do the cast and tell them I want a second band, and then see if the design team can do it. I'm with you as far as I don't care how little a second band will do, I don't care about the money, or the travel. I just want my little girl's head and face to be in the best shape possible. We are relocating to Denver, so I may be commuting to Phoenix with her. I think it's worth whatever the cost. Guest guest
Really? Wow. We'll see what happens then. Let me know what happens with your daughter. I agree with you completely. I'm just so curious if they do make another band, will they make it go straight across his forehead without a holding point. I really don't see any assymetry there and I'm worried about overdoing it but like I said...it's worth the try. Good Luck! > > > > > > Well it's been a couple of weeks now that has graduated > from > > his > > > second band. And I still can't make up my mind on whether to > try a > > > 3rd band or not.
