Technically you shouldn't add anything to your carseat unless the

manufacturer approves. The noggin nest I believe is an OK add on.

It's probably not endorsed by each car seat manufacturer but boppy

does advertise is as ok. Does that make sense?

I like the carseat with memory foam b/c it was designed by the manufacturer and I know it is safe. I hated adding memory foam to his carseat but felt I had no option. If I were you, I would just get the new seat. The one we got was for infants to 40 pounds. It is a rear and forward facing seat, so Braden can use it for a long time and we will get our monies worth. The one we have is Evenflo but I have seen others post that Graco makes one as well.
